00:06 my name is tom klingenstein
00:08 i'm the chair of the board of the
00:10 claremont institute which is a
00:11 conservative think tank
00:13 managing partner of the new york
00:15 investment firm and playwright
00:18 i wish to make three points first
00:22 trump is the perfect man for these times
00:25 not all times perhaps not most times
00:29 but these times second republicans are
00:33 not doing a good job explaining the
00:35 stakes in this election
00:37 they must explain and this is my third
00:40 point
00:40 that the democratic party which has been
00:43 taken
00:44 over by its radical wing is leading a
00:47 revolution
00:48 this makes the coming election the most
00:51 important one since the election of
00:53 1860.
00:56 let's begin there unlike most elections
00:59 this one
01:00 is much more than a contest over
01:02 particular policies
01:04 like health care or taxes rather like
01:08 the election of 1860
01:10 this election is a contest between two
01:13 competing regimes or ways of life
01:17 two ways of life that cannot exist
01:20 peacefully together
01:22 one way of life i'll call it the
01:25 traditional american way of life
01:27 is based on individual rights the rule
01:30 of law
01:32 and a shared understanding of the common
01:34 good
01:35 this way of life values hard work
01:38 self-reliance
01:40 volunteerism patriotism
01:43 and so on in this way of life there are
01:46 no
01:47 hyphenated americans we are all just
01:50 americans
01:52 colorblindness is our aspiration
01:55 the other way of life i call
01:58 multiculturalism
01:59 others call it identity politics or
02:02 cultural marxism
02:04 or intersectionality
02:07 multicultural movement which is taken
02:10 over the democratic party
02:12 is a revolutionary movement i do not
02:15 mean
02:15 a metaphorical revolution it's not like
02:18 a revolution it is a revolution
02:22 an attempt to overthrow the american
02:24 founding
02:25 as president trump said in his excellent
02:27 mount rushmore speech
02:29 republicans should say the same thing
02:32 republicans everywhere at every level
02:36 and at every opportunity
02:39 multiculturalism conceives of society
02:42 not as a community of individuals with
02:44 equal rights
02:45 but as a collection of cultural identity
02:48 groups defined by race ethnicity gender
02:51 and so forth according to the
02:53 multiculturalists
02:55 all these identity groups are oppressed
02:58 by white males
03:00 their goal is to have each identity
03:02 group proportionately represented
03:04 in all institutions of american society
03:08 as should be immediately clear
03:12 achieving this proportional
03:14 representation
03:15 requires a never-ending redistribution
03:18 of wealth and power
03:20 from some groups and not just from
03:22 whites
03:23 to other groups such a massive
03:26 redistribution can only be achieved
03:29 by a tyrannical government and like in
03:32 all
03:33 tyrannies one where dissenters are
03:36 silenced
03:38 in order to achieve disproportional
03:40 representation
03:42 the democrats require not just endless
03:44 affirmative action
03:46 but genuine socialism open borders
03:50 unrestricted trade seizing guns
03:53 sanctuary cities and much more
03:58 the black lives matter slash democrats
04:02 understand which republicans seem not to
04:07 that if they are to achieve their policy
04:09 agenda
04:11 they must get americans to change their
04:13 values their principles
04:15 and the way they understand themselves
04:18 they must get us to believe that
04:20 national
04:20 borders and colorblindness are racist
04:24 that we are not one culture but many
04:27 that the most important thing in our
04:29 history the thing
04:31 around which all else pivots is slavery
04:35 more broadly the multiculturalists must
04:38 get us to believe
04:40 that we are unworthy not just that we
04:43 have sinned
04:44 which of course we have but that we are
04:47 irredeemably sinful
04:51 in the language of today systemically
04:54 racist
04:56 and sexist homophobic islamophobic
04:59 and all the other ists and phobias
05:03 simply put multiculturalism
05:06 must get us to believe that we are bad
05:12 this suggests one way to frame the
05:14 coming election
05:16 as a contest between a man trump
05:19 who believes america is good and a man
05:24 biden who is controlled by a movement
05:27 that believes america is bad
05:30 i do not think it is any more
05:32 complicated than that
05:34 for the multiculturalist to change
05:36 traditional values and principles
05:39 they must destroy or radically
05:41 restructure
05:43 the institutions that teach those values
05:45 and principles
05:47 the most important of these institutions
05:49 is family
05:51 but also very important is religion
05:54 education
05:55 which they have mostly destroyed already
05:58 and community life
06:00 replacing the latter with government
06:02 bureaucrats
06:04 it is here in these value-teaching
06:07 institutions
06:08 that we see the underpinnings of the
06:11 revolution
06:13 this is where the real action is
06:16 republicans seem to be missing in action
06:19 republicans need to explain that blm
06:22 and their democratic enablers wish to
06:25 destroy
06:26 the traditional mother father family
06:29 to substantiate this claim republicans
06:32 have only to point
06:34 to the blm mission statement
06:37 the mission statement written by avowed
06:39 marxists
06:41 also lets us know that blm holds
06:44 transgenderism
06:46 to be the burning issue of our time
06:49 republicans must also explain that
06:51 religion
06:53 because it teaches american values is
06:56 also on the chopping block
06:59 republicans also must make americans see
07:03 that the taking down of statues is not
07:05 about removing a few confederate
07:07 generals
07:09 it's about destroying america's past
07:12 as is the new york times 1619 project
07:17 the rioters and their blm democrat
07:21 enablers are tearing down the statues
07:25 even of people like frederick douglass
07:28 who fought
07:28 against slavery this is not an accident
07:32 it is not collateral damage
07:35 frederick douglass was a great american
07:38 he believed that america
07:40 in her soul was not racist
07:43 he believed in hard work and
07:45 self-reliance
07:47 and because of his embrace of american
07:50 values
07:51 the blm democrats have to get rid of him
07:56 they must also get rid of abraham
07:57 lincoln for it is he who best explains
08:01 what we should aspire to and it is he
08:06 who is our best defender of the american
08:08 founding
08:10 in one sense this election is a
08:12 referendum on the founding
08:15 whether america
08:18 was founded in 1619
08:22 as the blm democrats contend or
08:26 in 1776 as lincoln
08:29 until recently all americans believed
08:33 republicans must make more of political
08:36 correctness and cancel culture
08:39 which as we have seen so vividly of late
08:43 brutally punishes apostates
08:48 who does twitter think it is censoring
08:51 an american president
08:53 republicans simply cannot stand for that
08:57 and republicans must explain as i
09:00 earlier explained
09:01 that the multiculturalists are trying to
09:04 get us to believe
09:05 that we are systemically racist
09:09 so that we will surrender to their
09:11 policy agenda
09:13 this too must not be allowed to stand
09:18 the american people need to hear what
09:20 they know in their hearts
09:22 they are not racists republicans should
09:26 stand up
09:27 and say no america is not racist
09:34 period
09:36 if americans are systemically anything
09:40 it is a systemic commitment to freedom
09:43 and equal rights for all perhaps most
09:46 importantly
09:48 republicans must say over and over
09:51 that america is incredible to use
09:54 president trump's
09:55 adjective of choice they must remind the
09:59 american people
10:00 that as a friend of mine is fond of
10:02 saying
10:04 america has brought more freedom and
10:06 more prosperity
10:08 to more people than any country
10:11 in the history of mankind most americans
10:16 know this but this too they need to hear
10:19 from their leaders
10:22 in order to make the case that the
10:24 democrats are leading a revolution
10:27 republicans must de-legitimize black
10:30 lives matter
10:32 the organization of course not the
10:33 sentiment
10:35 to blm and their democratic enablers
10:38 republicans must say absolutely
10:42 black lives matter they just don't
10:44 matter to you
10:46 you don't care about mr floyd the black
10:49 businesses you have destroyed
10:51 the blacks who are getting killed
10:53 because you have forced
10:54 the police to back off you are here for
10:58 destruction
10:59 not black lives not any lives
11:03 after delegitimizing black lives matter
11:07 the next step for republicans is to tie
11:11 blm's revolutionary agenda
11:14 around the necks of democrats
11:17 the blm wing of the democratic party
11:22 has captured the entire party
11:26 run of the democrats may not agree with
11:29 all of the blm agenda
11:31 but they go along so they might as well
11:34 agree
11:36 joe biden is one of the go along
11:38 democrats
11:40 so do not expect all democrats to sing
11:44 the blm tune even so
11:47 most will kneel before them listen to
11:50 biden
11:52 on one occasion biden said let's be
11:55 clear transgender equality
11:58 is the civil rights issue of our time
12:02 a year ago biden may not have even known
12:06 what transgenderism is he does
12:10 not seem to know it but he has been
12:12 radicalized
12:14 biden now regularly talks about systemic
12:18 racism on one occasion biden said
12:22 though without evidence there is
12:24 absolutely systemic
12:26 racism in law enforcement but it's not
12:30 just law enforcement he continued
12:33 it's across the board it's in housing
12:36 it's an education it's in everything
12:40 we do he is wrong
12:44 on every count but if indeed he believes
12:48 that racism
12:50 is in everything we do that it is
12:53 systemic then he believes
12:57 whether he admits it or not that the
13:00 system
13:01 must be overturned biden does not
13:05 realize it
13:06 but he is calling for the overthrow of
13:09 the american way of life
13:12 i presume that is not his intent
13:15 but when the words he is reading off his
13:18 blm
13:19 teleprompter get translated into policy
13:23 that will be the consequence the
13:26 destruction
13:27 of the american way of life
13:30 biden demures there is nothing to fear
13:34 from biden
13:35 says biden do i look like a radical
13:39 socialist with a soft spot
13:41 for rioters no he does not
13:45 but what he does look like is a sap
13:48 republicans must make it clear
13:50 that these are the biden riots
13:54 this brings me to my last point trump
13:59 i know president trump has many faults
14:03 i myself sometimes cringe listening to
14:06 him
14:08 sometimes he is his own worst enemy
14:11 he is a braggart often misinformed
14:14 petty sometimes even vengeful
14:18 and more and yet
14:21 we are very lucky to have him i am
14:24 almost prepared to say that having him
14:28 is providential how else to explain that
14:32 we find ourselves
14:34 with this most unusual most
14:37 unpresidential man who has just the
14:40 attributes
14:42 most needed for this moment
14:45 at any other time he might well have
14:48 been a bad president
14:50 but in these times these revolutionary
14:53 times
14:54 he is the best president we could have
14:57 had
14:58 he has the indispensable attribute of a
15:02 leader
15:03 courage as a leader must
15:06 he goes where others are afraid to go
15:09 and he has common sense which means he
15:12 generally wants to go to the right place
15:16 above all else and above anyone else
15:20 trump is committed to america he is
15:23 unreservedly
15:25 unquestionably pro-america
15:29 he feels no guilt for america's past
15:33 he makes no apologies he concedes
15:36 nothing
15:38 these may not always be the attributes
15:42 one wants in the president but in this
15:45 day
15:45 of woke guilt they are the most
15:48 essential things
15:52 and trump has unlimited confidence in
15:55 america
15:57 in this time of national doubt this too
16:00 is just what the doctor ordered he
16:03 thinks our culture
16:04 is incredible and that's the way he
16:07 wants to keep it
16:09 trump not only thinks america is
16:11 incredible
16:13 he knows we are in a fight for our lives
16:17 and despite what one hears ad nauseum
16:20 from the democrats
16:22 trump is perhaps among the least race
16:24 racist presidents
16:26 we have ever had trump is not defending
16:29 the white way of life he is defending
16:32 the american way of life
16:34 a colorblind way of life which is open
16:38 to anyone
16:39 willing to embrace it
16:42 if we want to save our country then we
16:45 should support him
16:46 unequivocally i am i think
16:50 this election is that important
16:54 and i think trump is that good
16:58 i hope you agree remember
17:01 trump versus biden is the choice between
17:04 a man who believes
17:05 america is good and a man who is
17:09 controlled by a movement
17:11 which believes america is bad
17:14 thank you very much
17:28 you
