Did you know that Australia, as a signatory to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, affords every Australian citizen the right to public protest.

You don’t need permission from anyone to conduct peaceful protest, although under some state laws you are limited to the number of people who can gather together without a permit, which we believe is an infringement of your human rights.

In this clip you will see what it looks like when citizens who exercise their rights to peaceful public protest are attacked by police who think they are above the law.

It doesn’t matter what this woman was demonstrating about, and it doesn’t matter if she chose to go into public with her child to do it, but it does matter that she was stopped, questioned, attacked and ultimately arrested by police.

We believe her rights, and the rights of her son have been infringed, and believe that every Australian should be concerned by the actions of the NSW Police Force.
