When I left my home town in northern NJ to go to college (1969), my Dad told me that he and Mom were planning to evacuate down to their beloved Jersey Shore to retire. Dad told me that our home town was beyond dead already, and I guess he should have known. You see, Dad created the KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL and DON'T BE A LITTRBUG! programs for Lady Bird Johnson. And guess who was his adorable little blonde PR Prop?
