Atomic Annie as some called it. This is one of the twenty M65 280mm atomic cannons. Atomic Annie given to the one and only of these to fire an actual nuke. "Atomic Annie" cannon on permanent display at Fort Sill, near Lawton, OK.
This cannon can be found in Memorial Field on the Rock Island Arsenal. in Rock Island Illinois.
In spite of her age, she is in fine shape, very little is missing from her. While in service, her crew of 5-7 could get her moved and ready to fire in around 15 minutes. It could fire conventional and nuclear shells as far away as 20 miles.
This gun borrows a lot from the German K-5 Railroad gun.
