Here is an answer from a blog which sounds correct. "There are actually only SIX other Covids. Two of them are serious illnesses (MERS and SARS). And the other four are just forms of the common cold. As others have said, the ‘19’ refers to the fact that Covid-19 first appeared in 2019. Although neither MERS or SARS have been referred to as ‘Covid’, they are, in fact, coronavirus diseases (which ‘Covid’ stands for). And we could refer to them as Covid-12 and Covid-03, respectively". So yes, how could they have been marketing a covid 19 test kit in 2017?
I vividly and distinctly remember watching President Trump SAY, during one of his press conferences, "i want to know where they came up with this '19,' in their name for it, 'Covid 19.'"

Also, when it began to be regularly called "Covid" instead of Coronavirus, I immediately noticed it is the word "divoc" backwards. I don't know if anyone knows what that is, and if you don't, look it up.. it may even be spelled differently...but it most definitely an interesting connection, to say the least.
