Michael Turner, R-Ohio, pushed back on former special counsel Robert Mueller’s characterization that his investigation into whether President Donald Trump obstructed justice did not “exonerate” the president. “There is no power or authority to exonerate,” Turner said in the July 24 hearing with Mueller, pointing out that “exonerate” is not a legal term. “You have no more power to declare him exonerated than you have the power to declare him Anderson Cooper.” Mueller declined to engage in a legal debate about the term.
