Legendary newsman Walter Kronkite receiving an award at the World Federalist Association meeting in 1999. He admits, after a quote from Pat Robertson saying that 'we will have peace, but only when the messiah arrives' Walter then quotes Pat Robertson by saying "..any attempt to achieve world government before that time must be the work of the devil" Walter then says "Join me, I'm happy to sit at the right hand of Satan"

Thanks for sharing. I am reminded of Bruce Springsteen's 1995 memorable song, "Youngstown," about the iron foundries in that city, where "his daddy worked the furnaces, Keepin' em hotter than hell". Bruce's closing prayer is a shocker. "When I die I don't want no part of heaven, I would not do heaven's work well, I pray the devil comes and takes me, To stand in the fiery furnaces of hell". Wow! I also think of mocking atheist Christopher Hitchens, who insisted that he didn't want anyone paying for his sins. At least these guys were not being lukewarm!

I expect that we ought to pity such people for they "know not what they do". And I have a most uncomfortable feeling that the lukewarm Church of the West has driven them into the arms of Satan, to a great extent. ie. It is a reaction. Pat Robinson for example has said some outrageous things over the years, things which would have inflamed me in my atheistic days. I too would have despised the false caricatures of "god" presented by a modern day Christianity, which has lost ALL godly "fear of the Lord".
