Spanish Quarantine Day 2: Shopping! ~ Daily Chaos

Housebound, already a wee bit stir-crazy, I guess there's a lot of it about, and suitable memes online, like the one where the guy's hiring his dog out for walkies so folks have an excuse to leave the flat, one walk for €10, or three for $30.

I took the long way round to the supermarket and, lo and behold, there was a squad car as I meandered past the rain-soaked beach. Shopping bag to hand, "Me voy a Consum!" They gave me a glare and a gloomy nod: shopping bags are like Get Out Of Jail Free cards round here now, nice tip.

30 minutes queuing in a line of just a dozen, an alcohol hand rub, pop on yer glove, don't touch anything it's a ruddy Petri dish! But the staff are terrific, and turn up for us, there's a camaraderie, I thank them for working, they smile in appreciation. No loo paper, sod all pasta, drained of UHT, bereft of bleach (surely people aren't actually drinking it) and the pick 'n mix covered over, but other than that the place appears in stock and available, including meat and fish.

I came home and washed the fruit, the veg, the yogurt carton ... I guess it's the Bag for (bacterial) Life that's likely the worst offender, but where do you stop?

What a palaver. But I had a walk.

At least it's raining, and has been for two days, Valencia's getting a clean, and that's timely.
