Rep. John Bennett's Floor Debate On Proposal To Recall Taxpayer Rights

The Republican leadership of Oklahoma's House of Representatives embarked on a course to overturn the expressed will of the people, Thursday March 15, 2018.
Having never trusted the people to decide a tax increase by ballot question, the House is pleading with the people to give up a constitutional right which they worked very hard to establish, 26 years ago.

Democrat leaders came to his side and agreed. None the less, the leadership held the vote open and twisted arms until they flipped 3 members and reached their 51st vote to pass. The Resolution goes to the senate, and if passed, will be a state question on some upcoming statewide election.
