Hurricane Dorian made landfall on the Great Abaco Island of the Bahamas on Monday, advancing west towards Grand Bahama with winds reaching speeds of over 220 miles per hour. Media reports said an eight-year-old child from Abaco Islands lost his life, while the storm continues to be life-threatening according to the US National Hurricane Center. Dorian exceeded previous estimations and became a category 5 storm, and, according to NASA, is carrying the strongest winds in recorded history in the north-western Bahamas.
