🔴 President Trump meets with military leaders in Iraq, says he always wanted to visit

President Donald Trump made a surprise Christmas visit to U.S. troops in Iraq on December 26, his first trip to a conflict zone nearly two years into his presidency and days after announcing a pullout of American troops from neighboring Syria.

In a session with military leaders that was open to the press, he told reporters that he had always wanted to visit Iraq and was very impressed by what the military was doing there. He was accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump and National Security Advisor John Bolton.
