Conservative vs. Liberal Beliefs

We all want the same things in life. We want freedom; we want the chance for prosperity; we want as few people suffering as possible; we want healthy children; we want to have crime-free streets. The argument is how to achieve them…
Liberals believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all. It is the duty of the government to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should be to guarantee that no one is in need. Liberal policies generally emphasize the need for the government to solve problems.

Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals. Conservative policies generally emphasize empowerment of the individual to solve problems.

Federal Budgets are Meaningless

Reactions to presidential budget proposals generally run along predictable party lines: the party occupying the White House lauds it as a sober and responsible reflection of the nation's priorities, while the opposition party insists it will kill babies and bring about the general downfall of the nation. We might expect this political grandstanding to grow more intense in the Trump era, and so it has: the administration's new 2019 budget proposal has been met with howls of disapproval from many corners.

But they are not true. Trump's budget, like all presidential budgets, is a meaningless document full of trial balloons that serve current political purposes rather than determining future spending priorities. Budgets have no bearing on future actions by Congress or the president, they don't change substantive law in any area, and they don't create deterministic deficits in the future. They are political documents, and should be understood as such.

Justin Trudeau projected to be the largest debt accumulator in Canada’s history: Fraser Institute

Excluding Prime Ministers who served during a world war or a major economic downturn, Justin Trudeau is projected to go down as the biggest debt accumulating Prime Minister Canada has ever seen.

A new report from the Fraser Institute detailing federal spending by Prime Ministers shows that Justin Trudeau is projected to raise the federal debt per person by 5.6% by the end of his first term. Sir Mackenzie Bowell and Sir John Abbott are the only other Prime Ministers to have increased the federal debt without facing an economic downturn or global conflict.

You Are Your Own First Responder

Being your own first responder is taking control of your personal safety. Your first line of defense is being prepared for a natural disaster or criminal act, paying attention to your surroundings, and having first aid and trauma skills to protect yourself and your family in a crisis.

A Girl & A Gun Director of Training, Tatiana Whitlock, and San Diego Chapter Facilitator, Judi Wells, hosted an informative and important conversation on Civilian Carry Radio, along with Baraka Ulrich James, Allen Sams, and Paul Sharp. The podcast addressed topics that are relevant to women and women’s self-defense, particularly women, who are facing a threat or impending harm and are seeking the skills and resources to protect themselves and their families.

Be your own first responder

It does not matter if you live in the city, suburbs, or completely out in the country, you are your first responder.

Just because you are in a nice comfortable town does not mean that resources can reach you in time to be of major help. In the event of SHTF, resources are going to be tied up with those that have more severe problems. You may also be unable to get help because someone that has more money or power than you need that help too. If something serious goes down, you may be absolutely on your own for an indefinite period. Another danger is that even when you do get care, it may not be at the same level you would expect from a licensed doctor.
