https://prrt1steamlocomotivetrust.org/ - Please help fund the T-1 Trust! They are a wonderful organization, building an advanced new 4-4-4-4 T-1 steam locomotive from scratch!

PNWR 1501 sorting cars in Albany, Oregon. Great sounding EMD 567 engine, and a little wheelslip! This old EMD SD7 began service on Southern Pacific, then eventually found it's way to Portland and Western. At the time I recorded this video, the railroad was considering scrapping this old workhorse, due to lack of new parts being in supply. Some parts were stripped off of another SD9 (PNWR 1851), and used on this one.

Some additional information has surfaced regarding this locomotive's history:

As of December 2017, there are no plans to scrap. They recently took apart and put back together the power assembly and she runs fine. She had tiger stripe paint when built in 1952, and the paint she has now was last touched up in the 1980's. She still has her gyralights.
