Hopewell Junction -Aug. 29...The New York State Conservative Party today unanimously nominated President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike Pence for President and Vice President, respectively, at a statewide nominating convention in Hopewell Junction led by State Party Chairman Gerard Kassar.

The Conservative Party also announced its 2020-ā€™21 National Affairs Platform, affirming its support for full Constitutional protections for the born and unborn.

ā€œLess than four years ago I stood in front of you and talked about how jobs were leaving New York at unprecedented rates,ā€ President Trump wrote in a letter accepting the Conservative Party nomination. ā€œBuildings sat empty across the state as jobs were shipped overseas to China and south to Mexico. I promised I would bring back jobs. Well, during my first three years in office, my administration added 359,600 jobs, bringing the unemployment rate down to 4%. We've faced some tough times, but as your president, I'm still fighting for you and we are going to do it again. New York's economy is going to come back stronger. New York's streets are going to be safer.ā€

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who accepted the nomination on behalf of the President and Vice President at the nominating convention, said: ā€œI was honored to be asked by President Trump to accept his nomination by the New York State Conservative Party on his behalf. President Trump has delivered results to New York families in his first term in office, and I am confident he will continue to prioritize real, everyday Americans in his second term. President Trump stands for conservative values: the right to bear arms, protection of the unborn, limited government, and the principles of liberty and freedom. Iā€™m looking forward to continuing my work with both President Trump and the New York State Conservative Party through victory in November. I am proud to have been unanimously endorsed by the Conservative party going back to my first campaign in 2014. The Conservative Party line in 2016 provided our President with nearly 300,000 votes and I expect that number to rise significantly this election cycle.ā€

ā€œI am proud to say that the New York State Conservative Party has once again nominated President Trump and Vice President Pence to lead its ticket in November,ā€ Chairman Kassar said. ā€œA vote for the Trump-Pence ticket on the Conservative Party line is a vote for economic freedom, common sense and public safety. President Trump built one of the strongest economies in our nationā€™s history, and heā€™ll do it again in a second term. The Conservative Party is working hard to provide the votes that will keep New York in play and assure his second term.ā€

President Trump was nominated by Party Secretary Howard Lim and seconded by Erie County Chairman Ralph Lorigo and State Vice Chairman Greg Rigby. Kings County Chairwoman Frances Vella-Marrone nominated Vice President Pence for re-election; that motion was seconded by Suffolk County Chairman Frank Tinari and Queens Chairman Thomas Long.

Three electors from the Party were chosen at the Convention, Ms. Vella-Marrone, Madison County Chairman Chris Kendall and Executive Vice Chairwoman Shaun Marie Levine. They will join with 26 Republican Party electors to form a full, 29-member state delegation.
