Testing out some 7.62x54R ammo using the the Lee C312-155-2R cast bullet and charges of Alliant 2400. Test rifle is a 91/30 PU sniper rifle.

I have this mold, but haven't tried it in a Mosin because I've always heard they prefer a heavier projectile. Just curious what kind of groups you usually get with the PU Sniper and commercial ammo?

And did you size and gas check them or just use them straight out of the mold?

The PU will shoot 1" to 1.5"with good handloads (jacketed bullets) or with the better commercial loads (like the PPU 182 grain FMJBT. Bullets were sized to .313" and are gas checked.
