Has anybody stopped to think that God may not necessarily be a nice guy?

I researched as deeply as I can before passing judgement. Creation and the Flood are extremely plausible given scientific data. The biblical narrative is statistically reliable. Those that say there are errors are looking at a translation of the original text which is a small subset of all information that needs to be evaluated. The answer about "why is this world filled with evil if God is so powerful and good?" The answer is that God is looking for spirits who practice humility toward Him and others while accepting that the problems we face are due to the fact that we are descendants of two people that betrayed him. So while we enjoy good and suffer evil as our ancestors chose for us, we have the chance to acknowledge our lowly place for this brief time. Those that choose to die in hatred toward God for what happened in the Garden of Eden choose to be separated from that glory when eternal bodies are issued for our souls. Anyone who accepts that Jesus Christ did not hate God or Man while on the cross even horrifically dying although His behavior was exactly what God wanted, that person who understands and supports what Jesus did is given a new body in "paradise" for eternal existence. Sorry if that sounds too good to be true but that is all there is to being a Christian. We practice humility while we can to the best of our ability because that is what God is looking for in the midst of the problems we face daily.

I’ve wondered and concluded that God is compassionate by allowing freedom of choice.

@no0negun: An important story that was omitted from today's Bible is the compassion that God had for Adam and Eve after they were kicked out of the Garden of Eden. One important interaction between God and Man is recorded in chapter 21 from the first Book of Adam and Eve. It explains the pain Adam and Eve felt and in chapter 25 how that pain became a custom of animal sacrifice as a memorial in our relationship to God. For a long time I could not understand why killing an animal was pleasing to God but I now know and it makes perfect sense. http://sacred-texts.com/bib/fbe/fbe026.htm It is a shame that details about Adam and Eve's interaction with God are left out of Sunday school. The interactions of Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus are commemorated and taught but Adam and Eve are left out and yet the Fall in the Garden is the foundation for what remains of human interaction with God.
