The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 28th Psalm.

Lyrics:

Oh, Lord, Thou art the foundation of all I’ve ever known,
And now my soul in great distress cries unto Thee alone,
Oh may it please Thee, Lord, to hear my earnest supplication,
When I lift my hands toward Thine ever-glorious throne!
Answer me, oh Lord, I pray, for unto Thee I cry this day,
Lest by Thy silence I sink down like those who bear Thy condemnation!
Identify me not, oh Lord, with those who work iniquity:
Who while they promise peace in word, plot mischief in hostility.
Let them reap the justice of the Lord: of wicked deeds the just reward.
Unto destruction they shall come, because God’s works they disregard.

Blessed be the Lord most High, who hearkened to my distressed cry,
For all-sufficient strength I find when God omnipotent is nigh!
In Him I trusted with my heart, and help to me He did impart,
Therefore with exultant joy, my heart doth praise the Lord today!
A shield unfailing is the Lord, all fears and foes away to ward,
And all His people to empower with saving strength for ev’ry hour,
Wherefore praise the Lord in song—His name exalt with one accord!
And as Thou hast in ages past, so may it ever please Thee, Lord,
To save, and bless, feed, and uphold, all the people of Thy fold!
