The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 17th Psalm.

Lyrics:

Oh, Lord attend unto my cry,
Give ear unto my prayer,
Hear me when I speak a right,
For my words Thou knowest are sincere.
Be Thou the Judge of this my cause,
And rule with equity,
For Thou hast cleansed my heart of flaws
'Til Thou wilt find no fault in me,
And I shall not speak a word in error,
That I may not fall into the snare
Of devious worldly ways.
Uphold me, Lord, as I tread Thy path,
That my footsteps may not falter.

Oh Thou that deliveredst them from the world's wrath
Who kneel before Thine alter,
Unto Thee I cry,
For Thou wilt hear my prayer,
Guard me as the apple of thine eye,
Beneath Thy wings let me repair,
For I am surrounded by my foes,
Whose boasting tempts me to despair,
While they with luxury enclose,
On every side their shameless lair.
They lurk like hungry predators,
Greedy of their prey.
Oh Lord, my Great Deliverer,
Let them fall upon dismay.

Yet even they are in Thy hand
A sword of retribution,
With which to chastise all the land,
And discipline Thy children.
Unwittingly they work Thy will,
And in this life their cup You fill,
With treasure in abundance,
'Til death over them doth prevail,
And they leave to heirs their substance.
But as for me, I shall behold
Thy face in righteousness,
Satisfied with joy untold,
Hereafter in Thy likeness!
