Overnight Hurricane Laura slammed the Gulf Coast as an extremely dangerous Category 4 storm, with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. A quarter of a million people in Texas and Louisiana are waking up without power, and officials are warning of an “unsurvivable” storm surge.
