How to Lose $400 in 20 seconds! Lost GoPro :(

Well I got the bright idea to attach my GoPro to one of the barrels that we've been shooting up in the air with the exploding targets. I figured the last time the barrel went straight up in the air we'd have no issues.

I used one of the 3M double sided tape GoPro clip mounts, right on top of the barrel. 1st mistake :( I couldn't get the AK to ignite the target after going through the tougher steel belts of the truck tire, so I switched to passenger car tire. 2nd Mistake.

Barrel launches in air and starts rotating. We lagged a little in moving the camera to watch the barrel, and as it came back down, I noticed one thing was missing. My GoPro!!!! I didn't have the Wi-Fi turned on, nor the water proof back. Third mistake :(

I've spent about 6hrs looking on the back hills for it, with no luck. I'm willing to bet it's in the water directly behind the hills. The water is going down a decent bit day by day (it's been flooded from dam gates being open), and with the water being clear, I have a minute chance of finding the camera.

Next time I'll listen to the wife and use better mounting on the barrel (screws and solid mounts) and remember the water proof housing and Wi-Fi!
