Tropical Storm Beta made landfall on the Texas coast late Monday night, severely flooding areas of Houston.
The storm made landfall about 8km north of Port O'Connor, Texas, with maximum winds of 72kph.
Footage captured of the floods recorded shows some vehicles stuck on streets, with others driving into the water before backing out.
Beta was the ninth named storm that made landfall in the continental US this year.
It was only the second times since the 1950s the Greek alphabet was used to name a storm.
