GoPro HD Hero 3+ Black Edition Review With Footage

New Camera Time! I was really hoping that GoPro would release something with higher frame rates for us guys who use them for slow motion, but maybe next year.

I like the new smaller housing with larger and easier to press control buttons. The clip design is nice, but is harder to get open if you keep short finger nails.

The SuperView does a nice job of capturing more view, without the expense of that fish eye look.

Audio quality is improved, at least from what I'm able to hear in playback. Firearm shooting sounds more natural without sounding too overbearing. Without the skeleton back or housing, you'll need post audio gain to hear lower sounds. External mics will be the same as well.

The biggest improvement easily seen in this footage is the low light performance of the 3+. Way better image quality with this setting enabled for recording in low light.

Image quality on the 3+ seems better. Good coloring and sharpness, and less distortion.

The weight savings comes from the lighter case, and is welcomed.

One thing I forgot to mention in the video is the faster WiFi. When previewing on the smart phone app, the feed is very close to actual live feed. Range is still limited to about 600' feet though.

I've had no reliability issues so far with the 3+ in regards to freezing, not powering on, or randomly stopped recordings (I see they've capped bitrates of footage at around 36mbps).

Even if you have a 3BE, in my opinion the features I've highlighted are well worth the upgrade.
