FLSD Wants to to Raise Our Property Taxes!


This is what you should know...



FACT: Fountain Lake School District (FLSD) is asking for a 4 millage increase at their Annual School Election to be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019.



FACT: FLSD borders encompass areas in both Saline and Garland counties. See your property tax bill to determine if your property is within the FLSD boundary.



FACT: ALL HSV Residents and Commercial Property Owners in FLSD will PAY HIGHER PROPERTY TAXES if this increase passes, REGARDLESS OF AGE or DISABILITY STATUS.



FACT: What it will cost YOU!

· $80 increase yearly on a home appraised at $100,000

· $120 increase yearly on a home appraised at $150,000

· $160 increase yearly on a home appraised at $200,000.

FACT: Under School Choice law FLSD has admitted 98 students whose parents do not live or pay school taxes in FLSD district.



FACT: Arkansas currently provides $566 in State Aid per student (Choice or resident) which amounts to only 5% of the total cost. In school year 2017-2018, the cost per student was slightly over $12,000 thus FLSD taxpayers are forced to pay the $11,000+ difference.
