More Thoughts on Coronavirus: Threats and Opportunities For Nationalists

Information and Origin

Somebody like me has a healthy distrust of anything I hear on mainstream media, which is the primary source of information, but given the risks involved, it’s best to err on the side of caution.

Even if, as some people have suggested, it’s a pure invention, the lockdowns, shop and school closures, the cancellation of events and growing sense of panic are genuine so have to be taken seriously.

Everyone has doubts about how the virus started. Was it created in a lab in order to provoke a global crisis, was it created by experimenters by accident or is it a natural occurrence that passed from animals to humans?

Coronavirus Response Sets Precedent For Tyranny

The coronavirus outbreak has, for the time being, overturned life as we know it. But could it be a gateway for all-out tyranny?

The federal and state governments have instituted bans on large gatherings, forced businesses to close, and ordered the cancellation or postponement of every major public event for the foreseeable future. These policies might be well-intentioned, but they call into question a broader issue regarding the proper role of government.

The governors of states like Michigan and New York are ordering that private establishments be closed and have put certain towns on lockdowns and instituted curfews, in some cases enforced by the National Guard.

From Quarantine To Tyranny To Rebellion: Where Is The Line In The Sand?

America is in a haze right now. It seems like half the country is in denial of the danger while the other half is awaking from apathy and frantically trying to prepare. This is creating a fog of confusion as one side screams “it’s nothing but the flu, stop buying up the grocery store…!”, and the other side just keeps stocking goods, though in an inexperienced way that prioritizes comfort over practicality.

The other day I went by the grocery store to grab a few peripheral items while they still exist on sale, and this was the first time since the Covid-19 situation began that people in my area actually seemed…different. The usual carefree obliviousness was gone from their faces and they all had a deer-in-the-headlights look, their eyes wide as saucers as they nervously scrambled around the store

The Coronavirus Hoax: Overhyped To Bring About More Tyranny

Governments love crises because when the people are fearful they are more willing to give up freedoms for promises that the government will take care of them. After 9/11, for example, Americans accepted the near-total destruction of their civil liberties in the PATRIOT Act’s hollow promises of security.

It is ironic to see the same Democrats who tried to impeach President Trump last month for abuse of power demanding that the Administration grab more power and authority in the name of fighting a virus that thus far has killed less than 100 Americans.

Declaring a pandemic emergency on Friday, President Trump now claims the power to quarantine individuals suspected of being infected by the virus and, as Politico writes, “stop and seize any plane, train or automobile to stymie the spread of contagious disease.”

He can even call out the military to cordon off a US city or state.

State and local authoritarians love panic as well.
