Emergency Trip To Labor and Delivery

Things ended up OK. Leah and baby are fine. Some time last evening she experienced extreme pain localized to one side of her abdomen, believed to be the rib or surrounding soft tissue. Labor and delivery hotline recommended we play it safe and come in. After a blood test and examination it was determined to be some form of soft tissue damage or very strained muscle. The problem with rib related injuries is that there is not much you can do. You can't wear a rib cast to isolate the area. The medical team at Kaiser has been amazing to us. We really like having our insurance through them and recommend them highly!

Medical insurance is important. If you need to forgo some luxuries to get covered I recommend you should.
