Electric Pulse Cannon Fires Rounds At Mach 6 Speed • Railgun

The U.S. Navy Railgun is being developed at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, VA and is moving forward towards deployment aboard Zumwalt-Class destroyers. The Railgun uses electro-magnetic pulses, instead of gunpowder, to fire a projectile at incredible speeds. The speed at which these rounds reach make it unnecessary to have high-explosive warheads. The kinetic energy of the round is enough to make them deadly on impact.
