So, I get a call at 11:50PM tonight, and the caller ID says US Gov. I answer, and the woman on the phone asks for me, and says I have a package at the local sorting facility. I had forgotten I had sent some .50AE out to be loaded by a commerical loader on the other side of the state. After a quick refresher, I remembered.

The woman goes on to say that sending live ammunition in the mail is a major no-no, and at my earliest convenience, I needed to come and claim the package.

So I went to the processing facility, and after filling out a package pickup form, I was given the box. It's amazing the box made it this far. I'm not sure how since it's plainly labeled "Ammo" on the box. However it was insured, delivery confirmation, etc on the box.

I talked to the owner, and he trippled checked all the rules. He even had the local post office call the state postmaster general, and gave him the okay and guidelines for shipping.

So, I did this video as a quick reminder. No live ammunition, through the USPS. It seems postmasters have differences of opinions, so I'll stick with what I know. Ammunition goes ground on FedEX, or UPS only. Labeled ORM-D on the package, and well taped :)
