Excellent video! I have a DE 50 and want to load cast bullets for it. I have the following mold:

I'm wondering if you have ever tried lubed bullets with the DE, or would you be concerned about the barrel port clogging? I have a heated sonic cleaner that goes to 140F, so it would be easy to clean out. How hard of lead are you using in the DE? How many FPS you getting with that load? Where'd you get your loading data for cast bullets?

Great video, thanks!

A lot of it is experimental, so take the following advice at your own risk... I have not tried traditional lube with my DE yet. I've found that guns/barrels are a little less sensitive to the perfect bullet hardness when they have a layer of powder coat on them. I'd for sure gas check if you are using traditional lube in the DE. There are lots of warnings against using cast bullets in the DE due to the gas port/gas system. I will have to double check on my bullet hardness, but I think I was using an alloy of 1 of my hard ingots to 3 of my window scrap (soft). For my load, I am using jacketed starting loads out of the Speer #14 manual since I drew up the bullet mold and patterned the nose after the Speer 325 gr bullet.

I have not clocked my load yet, because it seems to function properly and shoot as well as I can shoot the beast--and I haven't brought the chrono out the last several times I've been shooting. A rough estimate would be somewhere around 1300-1400ish fps but I won't know for sure until I get around to clocking the load.
