Our first level IV plate test on the channel!

Test Gun: Browning A-bolt II Gold Medallion, .338 Remington Ultra Magnum, 26" barrel
Test Taken: 40 feet, 400 yards
Round Used: 250gr Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point, Remington

Armor Used: Armour Wear Level IV Stand Alone Plate:

Weather on 40ft shot:
Temperature: 41.7°F
Humidity: 97%
Baro: 29.76" HG
Dew Point: 41°F
Elevation: 849 Feet.

Weather on 400yd shot:
Temperature: 30.2°F
Humidity: 75%
Baro: 29.81" HG
Dew Point: 23.2°F
Elevation: 849 Feet.

Results: At 40 feet, the round penetrated the plate, and caused extensive damage. Not much energy was left, as the bullet did not penetrate the wood behind the clay. Velocity recorded was 2,754 fps.

At 400 yards the round failed to penetrate the plate. Backface deformation was well under the max limit. Whether or not the plate would take a second hit, I can't say for certain, but I wouldn't chance it. Estimated velocity should be around 2,000fps.
