The Arkansas Senate held a press conference regarding a proposal on ethics and corruption at the Arkansas State Capitol on Thursday June 14th. The conference highlighted several issues that would be debated regarding rules for Arkansas State Senators.

Previous efforts to pass ethics reform in the Arkansas Senate such as SB726 of 2015 by Sen. Linda Collins Smith, were blocked by democrats and Republicans loyal to Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson. The timing of this ethics proposal was due to a Federal investigation of lobbying, general improvement funds and other practices done by Arkansas legislators. Several legislators have already been indicted or implicated as being involved in the investigation, the latest being Senator "A" better known as Arkansas Senator Jeremy Hutchinson.
